Students complete units of work covering a range of topics, including (but not confined to): ownership, resources, finance, technology, marke ng and research. In the second year, students will focus on their financial knowledge, creating business accounts for a business including profit and loss, balance sheet and ratios. They will also investigate online commerce – and the course is rounded off when students apply all the knowledge they have accumulated to create a business plan of their own.
Assessment will be a mixture of controlled assessment, examination and internally marked coursework. We will have more information on the weighting of these when we have confirmed the specification.
5 GCSE at grade 4 or above. Students must have achieved grade 5 or above in Maths and a 4 in English.
